The Role

As the Shop Foreman, you’ll play a key leadership role overseeing daily shop operations while remaining hands-on when needed.
You’ll ensure quality control, manage workflow, and support technicians in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations in the shop and assign work to technicians
• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
• Provide technical guidance and support to journeyman and apprentice technicians
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure repairs meet OEM and safety standards
• Support Service Manager in scheduling, prioritizing work orders, and meeting deadlines
• Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with the parts and service teams
• Assist in training and mentoring apprentices
• Promote a positive and safe work environment

Education & Certifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification (required)
• CVIP License (strong asset)
• Class 1 or 3 driver’s licence (asset)

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician
• Previous leadership or foreman experience in a dealership or fleet environment (preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (Detroit Diesel and/or Cummins experience an asset)
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor others
• Strong communication and organizational skills
