The Role
As the Shop Foreman, you’ll play a key leadership role overseeing daily shop operations while remaining hands-on when needed.
You’ll ensure quality control, manage workflow, and support technicians in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations in the shop and assign work to technicians
 - Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
 - Provide technical guidance and support to journeyman and apprentice technicians
 - Conduct quality control checks and ensure repairs meet OEM and safety standards
 - Support Service Manager in scheduling, prioritizing work orders, and meeting deadlines
 - Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with the parts and service teams
 - Assist in training and mentoring apprentices
 - Promote a positive and safe work environment
 
Education & Certifications
- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification (required)
 - CVIP License (strong asset)
 - Class 1 or 3 driver’s licence (asset)
 
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician
 - Previous leadership or foreman experience in a dealership or fleet environment (preferred)
 - Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (Detroit Diesel and/or Cummins experience an asset)
 - Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor others
 - Strong communication and organizational skills
