Position Overview
We are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Welder to join our Cranbrook Service team. This role supports welding and fabrication work on trucks, trailers, and equipment, with expanded responsibility for candidates who are mechanically inclined.
This position is well suited for a Level 1 to Level 3 Welder who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants consistent work in a professional heavy-duty service environment. Candidates with mechanical aptitude may support additional repair work and will be considered for full-time employment.

We offer competitive hourly wages based on welding level, training, and experience.
Hourly Rate: CA$33.22 – CA$47.45
Wages are determined by certification level, demonstrated skill, and overall scope of work. Mechanically inclined candidates who can support broader service work may progress more quickly.

The Role
Repair & Fabrication (Approx. 70%)
Perform welding and fabrication repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment
Repair frames, mounts, brackets, and structural components
Perform fabrication and rigging work as required
Coordinate with Parts Technicians to ensure required materials are available
Problem Solving (Approx. 20%)
Review work orders and repair notes from Service Advisors
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications
Assess damage and determine appropriate repair methods
Reporting & Training (Approx. 10%)
Accurately track time and document work completed
Participate in ongoing training and skill development
Qualifications
Level 1, 2, or 3 Welder certification or equivalent experience
Experience with MIG, stick, and fabrication welding
Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with truck or equipment repairs is a strong asset
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Experience welding on heavy-duty equipment is preferred
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
Note: Candidates with welding-only experience may be considered for part-time work. Full-time opportunities are available for mechanically inclined welders.
