The Role
As Sales Manager you will play a crucial role in driving NWTC’s sales strategy and performance across all branch sales teams.
This role is responsible for strengthening execution, coaching sales teams, building consistency across locations, and driving measurable growth. The successful candidate will also bring a strong understanding of heavy truck sales from a technical and application-based standpoint, and will be comfortable supporting detailed customer conversations where product knowledge and credibility matter.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives
Oversee all sales activities across multiple locations, ensuring consistent and effective execution
Lead, mentor, and support branch sales teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and performance
Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales priorities and drive initiatives that enhance revenue growth and customer acquisition
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Establish and monitor KPIs to measure sales performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize results
Support forecasting, pipeline health, and activity standards across all branches
Ensure the effective use and management of the CRM system to track sales activities, customer interactions, deal flow, and pipeline management
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
Support the team in complex opportunities where technical understanding is required to align specs, applications, and customer needs
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales strategies, making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets
Integrate customer-centric processes through all departments and support cross-functional collaboration
Experience and Skills
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on heavy truck sales experience in a dealership environment is required, with the ability to confidently support technical product and application-based customer requirements
Proven sales leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and driving consistent execution across a sales team
Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck specifications and configurations, with comfort supporting conversations related to vocational applications, fleet requirements, and operational fit
Demonstrated ability to build a high-performance culture through clear expectations, pipeline discipline, activity targets, and accountability
Proven experience supporting sales functions across multiple locations, branches, or territories
Excellent strategic planning and execution skills, with a track record of successful sales development initiatives and growth results
Proficiency in sales processes, KPIs, CRM systems, and data analysis
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making
Results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets
Nice to Have
Experience leading truck sales across multiple branches or wide geographic regions
Existing network within the Alberta and/or BC heavy truck and fleet market
Familiarity with vocational build processes, ordering timelines, and dealership/OEM workflows
