Our total compensation package offers job security, health, dental, EFAP, vision care and life insurance. The salary range for a Service Advisor is $45,000.00 to $55,000.00 (based on education and experience). A monthly bonus is available for this position.
The role:
Under the supervision of the Service Office Supervisor, the Service Advisor will welcome customers and gather information required to identify their vehicle repair and maintenance work they require. The Service Advisor sells maintenance services and organizes the work schedule, while maintaining exceptional customer service and rapport. They are the first point of contact for most of our customers and visitors.
Rotating Schedule
- 1st week- Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day
- 2nd week- Mon-Thurs, 10 hours per day
- 3rd week- Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day
- 4th week-Tues-Friday, 10 hours per day
Customer Relations – 60% of your time is spent here
- Obtain, verify and double check that you have the correct truck/vehicle serial/VIN number, mileage, company, contact names and phone numbers on all required documents.
- Act as a liaison between the customer, Service, Parts and Sales Departments.
- Obtain as much information about the customer and vehicle data upon their arrival.
- Inform the customer of all promotions and services provided by the dealership, including Parts and New Truck Sales.
- Verify the customer’s method of payment before the required repairs begin.
- Ensure accuracy of customer data in our computer system
Problem Solving – 40% of your time is spent here
- Coordinate with the back counter parts technicians to ensure parts for the repair are in stock or ordered to perform repairs and maintenance.
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma (Post Secondary Education in a related field is an asset)
Experience
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to speak English fluently (a second language would be considered an asset).
- Experience in the industry is not necessary, however preference will be given to those with experience in heavy duty trucks or automotive, especially with commercial vehicle experience.
- Basic understanding and ability to operate a computer including Microsoft Office programs and internal programs.
- Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public.
