The Role
The Director of Sales will play a crucial role in driving NWTC’s sales strategy and profitability. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing all components of sales for a multi-location organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing a high-performance sales team, and overseeing sales development, key performance indicators (KPIs), sales processes, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. The Sales Director will also work closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
We have two openings for Director of Sales: one position will focus on our Fleet and Highway business, while the other will oversee sales activities for our Vocational business line.
Overview of responsibilities
Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Oversee all sales activities within assigned vertical, across multiple locations, ensuring consistent and effective execution.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales priorities and drive initiatives that enhance revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote the NWTC’s brand and products.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Foster a collaborative and goal-driven work environment.
- Provide coaching and performance management to meet or exceed sales goals.
Metrics and Targets
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure sales performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize results.
- Ensure the effective use and management of the CRM systems to track sales activities, customer interactions, deal flow and pipeline management.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales strategies, making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets.
Financial Management
- Oversee the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.
- Ensure compliance with NWT policies and practices with respect to expenses and the entertaining of customers.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts.
Customer Relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of proposals and contracts for large clients and negotiate terms as needed.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by collaborating with service, parts and all other after-sales teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience will be considered in lieu of the specified Education requirements.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing sales functions for a company with multiple locations.

- Excellent strategic planning and execution skills, with a track record of successful sales development initiatives with growth results.
- Proficiency in sales processes, KPI’s, CRM systems, and data analysis.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
